At the PNC Bank Run for MS on Thanksgiving Day, there were a few standout performances by Creek Road Runners.
CRR Dan Simmons could’t quite pull off his second double win in six days. However, he did win his age group (65-69) in the 10K with a 44:17. Simmons took second in his age group in the 5K by running a 22:41. Time for a well-earned rest…. Oh, yeah, there’s a cross-country race on Saturday. Simmons will undoubtedly be out there competing once again.

Two females each took an age-group first place. CRR Ann Jornlin, who converted to cycling as her primary sport several years ago and biked across the country this past summer, runs this race annually in what has become a family tradition. She won the 5K in the 60-64 age group with a 26:24. Ever-steady CRR Theresa Cannon-Kauffman won the 50-54 age group in the 10K with a 50:17.

Several good times were turned in during the Philadelphia Marathon weekend races this past weekend. Among those were four notable Creek Road Runners.
CRR Jay Coughenour came in 5th out of 430 in his age group (45-49) in Sunday’s Philadelphia Half Marathon in a blazing fast 1:20:07. He was 72nd overall out of 12,467 finishers! In the same age group, CRR Keith Crispin posted a very good 1:29:02.
CRR Dan Simmons is not one to toot his own horn, so someone has to do it for him. On October 26th, Simmons competed in the USA National Duathlon Championship in Tucson, Ariz., placing 4th among the 65-69 men and 233rd out of the 383 finishers. He was one of just three competitors from Delaware.
