photo of Bill Rosephoto of Doug RepettiA triple scoop, please, for the Creek Road Runners. The Caffé Gelato Waffle Cone Ten Miler, which features pretty much the entire length of Creek Road and some of its off-shoot trails (well into Pennsylvania and back), featured three age-group winners on Sunday, as well as a couple notable performances.

parsonscCRR Bill Rose came in 16th overall out of 269 participants in winning the 55-59 age group in a fast 1:08:20. CRR Doug Repetti sneaked in just under the 80-minute mark to win the 60-64s in 1:19:51. On the female side, CRR Christina Parsons took first in the 50-54 age group in a very respectable 1:22:13.

Race host and Caffé Gelato owner CRR Ryan German had a busy morning, placing fourth in his age group (35-39) and 22nd overall with a 1:11:22 effort, finishing second among the Creek Road Runners. Then he helped serve the post-race brunch! CRR David Coker, the third CRR to finish, ran an impressively steady race, placing 35th overall and a solid fourth in the 45-49s in 1:14:48.

Congratulations to all Creek Road Runners who finished, especially with the difficult uphill climb at the end.

photo of Bill RoseApparently, the Homecoming 5K (see previous post) did nothing to slow down CRR Bill Rose. Rose won the 55-59 age group in the Caffé Gelato 10 Miler here in Newark on Sunday morning in a very good 1:06:27, placing 17th overall out of 333 finishers. That’s about 6:38 per mile! Well done, Bill.

parsonscgermanThere were also a couple third-place age-group finishers among the crew. Owner of Caffé Gelato CRR Ryan German (35-39) and CRR Christina Parsons (50-54) ran a 1:09:20 and 1:25:09, respectively. German placed 25th overall.

CRR Sue Barton also completed the unique out-and-back road-and-trail course in 1:33:23.
