photo of Brian BahnsonCRR Brian Bahnson celebrated the morning of July 4th by running five miles in The Great Harvard 4th of July Race, in Harvard, Mass. He finished the hilly course in 38:39, coming in 6th out of 21 runners in the men’s senior division (50-59).

A fine way to celebrate independence!

photo of Shawn AlexanderCRR Brian Bahnson completed the course in 3:47:02, and CRR Shawn Alexander finished in 4:26:27. CRR Michelle Parent did the Philly Half Marathon, finishing in 2:5:54.

Congratulations to each of you. (Times noted are gun times.)

photo of Enoch Lee and little girlEnoch Lee, a native Newarker and University of Delaware student, lost his life in a tragic car accident this past October. There will be a unique 10K trail run—“The Race To Save The World – Enoch Lee Memorial Run”—on Saturday April 18th in Middle Run Park (off Possum Hollow Road) in Enoch’s memory.

The start of the race, in fact, is very close to Enoch’s family’s home. More information can be found at www.runreg.com/enoch.

Note: Anyone who wants to order a special race t-shirt needs to register by this Friday, April 3rd.

The race is part of a trail-running series www.trailcreekseries.org. CRR Brian Bahnson, whose wife Lauri Webber is one of the promoters of the Trail Creek Series, invites you to support and get the word out about the race.

All (100%) of the proceeds will benefit the Enoch Lee Memorial Fund.

Creek Road Runners is an informal association of runners/joggers who frequent the only quiet scenic road out of Newark, Delaware.

You’re a real runner if…

acronyms like PR and DNF are verbs.

the thought of signing up for a 401K is scary.

your blood pressure is 92 over 56 and you are conscious.

you drive 100 miles to a 5K race.

you can convert kilometers to miles in your head.

your iPod has a “running” playlist.

you check out road races while on vacation.

you’ve converted your marathon medals into a wind chime.

you consider running 3 miles to be a warm up.

you know the shoe store guy better than some relatives.

you drive down the freeway and think to yourself, “Hey, my car is doing 1-minute miles.”

you know that PR stands for something other than Puerto Rico.

you use your bib numbers to wallpaper your garage.

your resting heart rate is too low to give blood.

you look forward to birthdays when your age changes to a number ending with a 0 or 5.

you consider your latest race shirt “formal wear.”

you mentally measure junk food in miles rather than calories.

you have your own name for all the local public trails.
