Each year, the Haddonfield (N.J.) Adrenaline 5K draws serious competitors from all over the greater Philadelphia area and beyond. This year’s race, contested on Saturday, March 16, was no exception.
Times were fast, really fast. So fast, in fact, that 50-year-old CRR Bill Farquhar finished in 68th place overall. His time was a super 17:45 (17:42 chip), which gave him a well-deserved age-group (50-54) win in a major race.
Well done, Bill!
39-year-old Tim Hodson, son of the late CRR Robert Hodson, finished 7th among his age-group peers in a commendable 19:26. There were 984 finishers.
Retired UD biology professor and CRR Robert Hodson died of complications from pancreatic cancer on April 24.
Bob was one of the original Creek Road Runners from the 1980s. In part, his obituary read, “Bob’s hobbies included being a scout leader, bird watcher, horticulturist, conservationist, runner, and biker. Bob ran for several decades in White Clay Creek as part of multiple running clubs.” He will be missed.
