Mackler logoThe 15th Annual Scott Mackler 5K this Sunday, October 26th, at 12:30 p.m. at Temple Beth El on Possum Park Road in Newark, Del., will be the first one for which CRR Scott Mackler won’t be at the finish line watching all the runners and walkers. Or will he simply be overseeing it from a better vantage point?

It started in 1999, right after Scott was diagnosed with ALS. Anyone who’s run it in the past can attest to it being one of the toughest 5Ks around, which is why many people choose to take it light and walk. There is a full buffet after the run and awards for top finishers—runners and walkers.

Because of the popularity of this race, the Mackler family has been able to raise almost $2 million in the 5K’s 15 years to support patients with ALS and research into fighting the debilitating disease.
